SUCCESS!

Wow! 68 riders, a third of whom tackled and defeated the century to claim their Culligan jerseys! Awesome support by Culligan, help from the Cozad Chamber and Good Life Cycles (me), great breakfast by John Jordening, awesome photos from Paul Pack and Ryan and Leslie Trullinger, a mighty fine job on the t-shirts by Brooks Screenprinting, a few hiccups on my part but it mostly went GREAT! I want to thank everyone so much for participating in our first annual event! Everyone did a fantastically amazing job pushing themselves! Weather was awesome too!
I wanted to let you know that you put on a very fine event on the 18th. The route presented some fine challenges and excellent scenery. You, your help, and the city of Cozad were very gracious hosts. Your hospitality and that of the folks manning your SAG stations was greatly appreciated. My only regret is that I was unable to stay for post-ride festivities. Perhaps next year. Thank you much. Sincerely, Gary Monter
Check www.GoodLifeCycles.com/Facebook for links to many of the photos! We're already planning next years hoping to have some major sponsors for LOTS of prizes and giveaway goodies! Next year wouldn't be possible without all of you who came this year!

Route Maps

If you guys use MapMyRide at all, here are the routes. You can get them on your smart phone using the app even. I'll have some printouts that morning but they won't be anything too special so if you're more comfortable with your own cues, make away!

Prizes and Super Soaker Mayhem!

There will be a few various prizes donated by area businesses giving out for some kind of random reasons. Brill Chiropractic was the first to offer a prize but not the only one, I will list the rest as time draws nearer. These prizes will be awarded for a few semi-random reasons. Just an example something like "oldest bicycle being ridden". Should be fun!

There's also rumors of a vehicle with super soakers that will be roaming around the course giving riders a cool down if they give the signal they are overheating!

Ride Updates!

Are you ready TO RIDE?!

It's getting close and things are getting more and more exciting! Here's a little update:

  • We may end up pushing 50 registrations (may not be much but I would be extremely excited to see 50 bikes here!) People from hailing Seward to Ogallala and up north from Cairo and Hyannis!
  • Breakfast will be available in two flavors, fresh fruit smoothies from Juice Plus+ and I believe these will be free AND/OR a local caterer will be set up providing a free hot breakfast! Plan accordingly and show up early to get fueled up! Breakfast should be set up by 6:45 am at the latest.
  • With the mention of breakfast, I will set up at an earlier check-in time of 6:30am at the shop to give you plenty of time to eat and prepare.
  • We are working on possibly asking Lucky Chuck's in Eustis to open specially for us for those doing the 100 miler since they will be passing there around lunch time. Please let me know if there's any interest so I can try to tell him it will be worth his time!
  • I just want to re-iterate the donation of the jerseys by Gordon Sanders of Culligan for those who complete the 100 mile route! You will not receive the jerseys the day of the ride but they will be specially ordered and mailed out to you about 6 weeks after. Make sure we snag your size before the end of the day!
  • If you need a place to stay, let me know! I will provide my yard for tent camping and we have an apartment with 2 beds that we can provide so this will all be available first come first serve!
I want to emphasize my thank you to Culligan of Cozad who will be providing the jersey donations and patrolling the route with ICE COLD H2O!

Registration is OPEN! Go to the "Registration" page or click here to download the form! We will also be taking registrations this Saturday, May 5th at our booth at the In & Out XPO downtown Cozad!

Registration is $15 for individuals, $30 for a couple and $10 for each additional family member. The proceeds of the ride go to help fund and maintain Cozad's 100 Meridian Museum. The fee includes a t-shirt for each person registered and paid before August 1. There will be some support and rest stops along the way providing free snacks and drink but this is volunteer based so be sure to have enough food and water to sustain yourself. There are towns with convenience stores, gas stations, and restaurants along each route as well.

Updated Information

Registration will be tentatively open May 1st! The forms will be available to download on this blog under the "Registration" section. This section has recently been updated to include fees and other details. In the "About" page, you will now find 3 routes of different mileage. We are currently working on the possibility of a 4th route about 10 miles in length. These routes follow historical highways in the area.

100 Meridian Hundred 2012

Mark your calendars for August 18 in Cozad, Nebraska! We are currently in the planning phase of this year's 100 Meridian Hundred bicycle ride! Registration should be opening up within the month! This year's ride is going to be EXCITING! Please keep updated by checking up on this blog or following Good Life Cycles' FaceBook page.

The ride this year will be non-competitive following a historical route which includes portions of the Lincoln Highway. We are planning to work in a shorter loop or two to provide a route for all skill levels. This event is taking place in conjunction with the Journey Along the Lincoln Highway Cruise Night with many festivities and  great food taking place after the ride. This is a fundraising ride with proceeds going to help fund the expenses involved in keeping the 100th Meridian Museum in operation!

Registration will likely include coupons to local business and ride commemorating t-shirts!

As I said, we're working on the details as we speak so more information along with registration forms coming soon!
